Celebrating the life of
Mary Nease Beall
October 07, 1928 - June 27, 2026
Mary Nease Beall, lovingly known as “Mema” to friends and family, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Savannah at the age of 97. Born on October 7th, 1928 in Savannah, GA she was the beloved daughter of Robert Felton Nease and Nettie Kessler Nease and was one of seven children.
Mary graduated from Commercial High School in Savannah. She went on to have a dedicated career as a wonderful mother of 5 children in a great neighborhood of Daffin Heights and later at Majestic Oaks subdivision.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit and dedication to her church and her family. Helping when needed for her children, grandchildren and great grand children.
One of her greatest joys later in life was to volunteer during the Desert Shield conflict and driving out to Hunter Army airfield to greet young soldiers as they were flying out with a Flag and a Bible and returning home at all hours of the night and day. Some even returned with these items as she welcomed them home. She felt they deserved the support, as many were away from home.
Her greatest joy was spending every summer at the beaches of Pawleys Island area with all of her children and their families.
A big thanks to her lifetime friends of Arthur and Molly Gignilliat,
Her close friend at Harmony of Savannah for the last several years, Leola Moore and Karen Daniel of IOHUMC who kept her company and looked out for her, Neighborhood friends Georganne Ratcliff and David Ratcliff in Majestic Oaks who always helped her out.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Young Allen Beall, Sr. , her infant daughter Sandra Allena Beall, her son David Ross Beall, her daughter Michelle Beall Denny and son-in-law Willis (Bill) F. Denny, Her parents and all of her siblings.

Though it has been many years since we saw our Beall cousins' “Aunt Mary” at family gatherings, I remember her as being very kind and loving to all. My sister Susan and I send our sympathy to the Beall family.
