John Howard Snyder

John Howard Snyder, 72, of Hinesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah surrounded by family.
Born on June 12, 1954, in Fairborn, Ohio, John was the son of the late Kenneth Eugene Snyder Jr. and Peggy Joyce Wyatt Snyder. He graduated from Glennville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Fort Benning. John worked as a skilled finishing carpenter and took great pride in building furniture and cabinetry. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his friends at American Legion Post 168. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, John could make people laugh in any situation. He had a special love for animals and was known for taking in and caring for stray cats throughout his neighborhood. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, William Daniel Snyder.
He is survived by his brother, Floyd Snyder, and sister-in-law, Monica Snyder; and his nieces and nephews, Melanie, Danny Jr., Dixie, Andy, Rachelina, Stephanie, and Dustin.
John will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his generosity, his love of animals, and the laughter he brought to those around him.
The memorial service will be on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel at 10:00 a.m.
