Ben Neal Adams, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026 leaving behind the legacy of a life beautifully lived. Born on April 30,1931, in Center, Texas, Ben carried with him the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion throughout his remarkable journey in life. He later made his home in Savannah, Ga, where he became deeply respected and admired by all who knew him.
Ben shared an extraordinary 76 years of marriage with the love of his life, Betty Adams. Together, they built a family grounded in devotion, strength, and unconditional love. He was a proud and loving father to his daughters Joanna Wright and Ellen Adams, and a cherished grandfather to Ben Wells, Jonathan Wells, and Justin Wells. His greatest joy continued through his six great-Grandchildren, each of whom carried a special place in his heart.
A man of intelligence and dedication, Ben earned his Master’s degree in biology from The University of Texas and proudly served in the United States Army. His professional life reflected his commitment to helping others, serving as Director of the Health Department with wisdom, leadership, and compassion. Beyond his public service, Ben was also a passionate antique dealer for several decades, finding beauty and history in treasured pieces from the past.
Those who knew Ben will remember him as a man with a generous spirit, great faith, a brilliant mind, and a deeply loving heart. He was endlessly helpful, kind beyond measure, and always willing to offer guidance, encouragement, or a warm smile. His family was the center of his world, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on for generations.
Ben Neal Adams leaves behind a legacy of honor, wisdom and unwavering love. Though he will be profoundly missed, his memory will forever remain a source of comfort, inspiration, and pride to all who were blessed to know him.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Central Church of Christ, 632 Stephenson Ave, Savannah, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
Ellen & Mrs. Betty my heart and much love to you. So sorry for your loss. I have always considered you all as my extended family from church. You are in my prayers.
