Celebrating the life of

Christopher John Crane

Passed away on May 04, 2026

Christopher John Crane

Christopher John Crane, 69, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Doreen and Gerald Crane.

Born in Detroit and raised in Ann Arbor, Chris attended the University of Michigan and remained a devoted Wolverine fan throughout his life. He enjoyed a distinguished career as a hotel General Manager spanning more than 30 years, living in many states before retiring from Hilton Worldwide in 2024. Chris was known for mentoring new managers and for the passion and precision he brought to his annual budget presentations. Above all, he cherished time spent visiting his children and celebrating their accomplishments.

In 2024, Chris fulfilled several lifelong dreams as a devoted Michigan fan, attending the Rose Bowl where Michigan defeated Alabama, and later the National Championship game. One of the most meaningful moments of his final year was attending his son Andrew’s graduation from the University of Michigan with his MBA.

Chris had a deep love for music, especially blues, jazz, and rock and roll, and rarely missed an opportunity to attend a live concert. He will be remembered for his warmth, wit, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Tami; his children, Jennifer Oprzdek (Michal) of Singapore, Andrew of Dana Point, California, and Melissa of Richmond, Virginia; his two granddaughters, Harper and Ingrid, and his sisters, Stephanie Crane, Catherine Balser, (Robert) and Sarah Levinson, (Harry) and brother, Jon Crane,(Nancy), and his loyal best friend and Golden Retriever, Bailey.

A private cremation has taken place with a Memorial at a future date.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Hearth Hospice for their kindness and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Epilepsy Foundation.
