Celebrating the life of
Shirley Giebrich
September 15, 1934 - May 07, 2026
Shirley Giebrich, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of many, has passed away surrounded by her family. Shirley was married to the former Fred Giebrich for 67 years, whom she met when she was a teacher in his hometown.
Her faith and love of music led her to the church choir, where her voice lifted spirits week after week. She believed in the power of community and fellowship, and nowhere was that more evident than among her wonderful circle of friends at Magnolia Manor, where she was known for her bright spirit and ready smile.
Shirley had a deep appreciation for life’s finer pleasures. A wonderful meal and a good drink shared with great company were among her greatest joys. And those who knew her well knew that Shirley never met a clothing store she didn’t like–she had an eye for style and never passed up an opportunity to browse the racks.
She leaves behind a family that adored her and a community that is richer for having known her. Shirley was one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to moms favorite charity Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Shirley will be interned and join her husband at the Sarasota National Cemetery in a private ceremony. A Celebration of Life will be held at Magnolia Manor on Saturday, May 30th at 2:00 pm.
