Robert Parks "Bob"

Robert Stafford Parks, “Bob,” age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Winter Park, Florida, with his children by his side.
Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Bob was the son of William J. Parks and Amelia Stafford Parks. He married Eleanor Murphy in 1957, the same year he graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in industrial engineering. He later earned an MBA from Drexel University and was a lifelong member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society.
Bob earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1949 and proudly served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Captain. He went on to build a career spanning engineering and finance, holding management positions at Westinghouse Electric Corporation and McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. His work took him from Savannah to Philadelphia and eventually to Orlando, where he retired in 1994.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Eleanor; his brother, Peter Parks; and his nephew, Les Parks, Jr.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Parks (Alan Knauf) and Stephanie Parks (Randall Shirlaw); his son, Gregory Parks (Harriett); four grandsons, Daniel Parks (Kathryn), Ryan Parks, Nathan Knauf, and Oliver Knauf; his sister, Gail Bratton; as well as nieces, nephews, and a great-grandson on the way.
Bob enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and traveling. He especially loved cruising and took more than 50 cruises with his wife and family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and as a man of discipline and purpose. He had a strong work ethic, valued education, served his country, and provided his family with opportunities to build meaningful lives.
The Funeral Service will be at 10:00a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. Burial will be at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. Fox & Weeks Island Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robert S. Parks to a charity of the donor’s choice.
