July 04, 2026 - February 04, 2026

Robert Carroll Sigler

Mr. Robert “Bobby” Carrol Sigler, 85, of Rincon, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his residence, under the care of Georgia Hospice Care and FirstLight Home Care.

Bobby was born July 4, 1940, in Clewiston, Florida, to the late John Bernard Sigler and the late Jewel Wilner Stone Sigler. He was raised in Garden City and graduated from Savannah High School, Class of 1958. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy, serving four years of active duty and two years in the Naval Reserve. During his final year of active duty, he was stationed aboard the USS Dewey during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

After his honorable discharge, Bobby worked as an independent owner-operator, driving over-the-road. He later joined the Savannah Port Authority as an international longshoreman, where he retired. He was a longtime member of South Gardens Baptist Church and, in later years, attended Southside Baptist Church.

Bobby was a true muscle car enthusiast and could strike up a conversation about cars with anyone. In his spare time, he loved watching NASCAR—especially cheering for his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed dove hunting and shooting trap and skeet as a member of the Mossy Oak Gun Club on Hunter Army Airfield. Bobby had a deep love for his family, and also loved all animals, particularly his dog Buddy.  He enjoyed Elvis Presley’s music and, when a piano was nearby, could still play his favorite boogie-woogie tune. Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, Bobby will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anyta Carrol Borland.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Ann Dubberly Sigler; three children, Robert Sigler, Carol Duncan, and Rebekah Sigler; eight grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan, and Kari Shelnutt; Hunter and Blaze Sigler; Garrett (Anna), Kaitlyn, and Keira Duncan; three siblings, William “Billy” Sigler, Elma Stephenson, and Judy Floyd; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy.
