In Loving Memory of Lynn Nowell Wrenn
Lynn Nowell Wrenn passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2026, after a short illness. She was born on October 12, 1950, in South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Louise Nowell; her beloved sister, Sue Werner; and Don Wrenn. Lynn was a woman of remarkable strength, grit, and determination. She possessed a quiet resilience that carried her through life with grace and resolve, never shying away from hard work or challenge. Her strength was matched by her deep kindness and generosity of spirit, which touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She loved her family fiercely and without hesitation. Lynn was a devoted mother and grandmother who would do anything for her sons and grandchildren. Family was at the center of her life, and her love for them was unwavering and constant.
Lynn had a special and tender love for animals and nature. She fed the deer in her backyard each day, kept bird feeders full, rescued kittens and cats whenever she could, and was deeply moved by the sight of animals in need. She was an avid bird watcher and a lifelong lover of the natural world. Gardening was one of her greatest joys, and her beautiful yard stood as a testament to that love. Camellias were among her favorite flowers, a passion passed down to her by her father In retirement, Lynn remained deeply engaged with the world around her. She was a member and officer of the Skidaway Island Garden Club and a member of the Skidaway Island Audubon Club. She volunteered with a group of azalea lovers at Bonaventure Cemetery who lovingly cared for those historic gardens. Lynn also spent countless happy hours pruning and tending the gardens at the Bamboo Farm, always with a smile on her face.
Professionally, Lynn enjoyed a long and accomplished career in healthcare. She worked in ultrasound imaging in many locations before serving for many years as the manager of the St. Joseph’s/Candler Radiology Department on the St. Joseph’s campus. She was directly responsible for the accreditation of the Vascular Lab in Ultrasound Imaging at St. Joseph’s. Even after retiring, Lynn continued her radiology continuing education simply because she loved learning and valued staying intellectually engaged.
Lynn also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time in Lake Lure, North Carolina, shopping, decorating, working in her yard, and being immersed in nature. She was never idle, always learning, creating, nurturing, or caring for something or someone.
Lynn is survived by her sister, Jane Eversoll; her sons, Andrew Wrenn and his wife Erin Wrenn, and their daughters, Sophie Wrenn and Olivia Wrenn; and Christopher Wrenn and his wife Amy Wrenn, and their children, Emily, Ethan, Daniel, and Noah Wrenn. She is also survived by her nieces, Nichole Werner and Jessica Werner, and her nephew, David Eversoll.
