Celebrating the life of

Margaret Ann Beindorf Boyden

April 17, 1941 - January 28, 2026

Margaret Ann Beindorf Boyden

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Beindorf Boyden, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 28th.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Peggy was the beloved only child of Estelle and William Beindorf. She grew up in Vero Beach, Florida, where she attended Catholic grade school and graduated from Vero Beach High School, proudly serving as a cheerleader. She later attended the University of Florida, where she became a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and met the love of her life, William “Bill” Boyden, whom she would marry and share 64 wonderful years.

Peggy and Bill made Savannah their home in 1975. She played an instrumental role in the formation and growth of Boyden Construction Company, contributing greatly to the family business. For more than five decades, Peggy was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church, where she and Bill were deeply involved in the building and expansion of both the church and the school. She was also a longtime member of The Landings Club, where she enjoyed golf, boating, and the friendships built over the years.

Known affectionately as “Perfect Peggy,” she was admired for her impeccable sense of style, love of fashion, and warm, gracious spirit. Peggy and Bill shared a passion for travel and treasured the many trips they took together across the world.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert William Boyden; and her brother‑in‑law, Michael Sands Boyden. She is survived by her husband, William L. Boyden; her daughter, Janet Boyden; daughter‑in‑law Libby Boyden Price (Steven); granddaughters Brittany Elizabeth Boyden Amplo (Christian) and Megan Wertz Boyden; sisters‑in‑law Joan Kemp, Susan Barrett, and Charlotte Boyden; as well as many extended family members who loved her dearly.

Memorial donations can be made to the St. James Catholic Church building fund.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Coastal Care Partners and Georgia Hospice Care for their expert care and compassion for Peggy.

Bill, please accept my condolences. It has been awhile, but I remember. I always enjoyed "The Gold Tee Blitz" comradery, Thursday night gin, sharing our love of golf and mining some nuggets out of your wisdom whenever I could. Peggy was always so gracious and nice to me and Karen. I just said a prayer for you and family to be comforted in knowing that you will see Peggy and Bobby again because of Jesus' love for us all. Love, Jim

Bill, you have my heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your beloved Peggy. It was always sweet seeing the 2 of you at Saturday evening Mass and teasing each other about heading straight to the bar. Since losing Buz on January 15 I've been so aware of those fun moments and I hope lovely memories comfort you in your loss.

- Ruby Weitzell, Savannah, GA
