Elizabeth René Butterfield Green, 55, was born on October 5, 1970, in Heidelberg, Germany, to Kenneth Bruce Butterfield and Maryann Strickland Butterfield while her father was on active duty. She spent most of her life in Savannah, where she attended Savannah Christian Preparatory School.
René was known and loved by many as an animal advocate and mobile groomer. Her beautiful spirit touched countless lives, and heaven has gained a precious angel.
Her surviving family members include her husband, Robert Michael “Mike” Green Jr.; her mother, Maryann Strickland Butterfield; mother-in-law, Christine Lee Green; sister-in-law, Buffy Michelle Thompson (Mark Anthony); stepdaughters, Lacey Danielle Moser (Josh) and Christian Taylor Mallard; and her grandchildren, Elle Brook Moser and Charlotte Brynn Moser; as well as her beloved canine and feline children.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A funeral service will follow immediately at 4:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
