Christine Alissa Durkin, 54, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Hospice Savannah after a valiant battle with cancer.  She was born March 8,1971 in Livingston, New Jersey to the late Albert and Joanne Gosztyla. Christine worked as a paraprofessional for the Gainesville School System while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Western Governors University. 

She was active in the community in both Gainesville and Savannah and was a member of the Gainesville Spinners Guild, Mom's Club, and the Deep South Orchid Society. Christine loved fiber arts, gardening, and the beach. She also fiercely supported all of her daughters' passions by being a Dawg fan, a proud Army mom, and a champion of artistic expression. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Durkin. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Emma Durkin, Maisy Durkin, and Sarah Durkin, all of Savannah. Also survived by her sister, Julia Ziobro of Colorado, her brother, Jeffrey Gosztyla of Utah, and several nieces and nephews. 

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
