Celebrating the life of

Walton Lee Hall

December 19, 1928 - November 30, 2025

Walton Lee Hall

Walton Lee Hall, 96, of Burnside Island in Savannah, GA passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1928, in Allendale, SC.

Walton completed his education through the eighth grade before being drafted into the Korean War in 1950, where he proudly served his country as a tank operator. After returning home, he worked in forestry, then Hall Brothers Hunting Club on Skidaway Island and Vallambrosia Plantation for many years.  Then spent a few years shrimping and later built a long and respected career in heavy equipment construction. He retired from the Operating Engineers and went on to own and operate W.L. Hall Co., a grading and heavy equipment construction business that his grandson still owns and operates.

He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Waters, in 1956, and together they built a strong and loving family. Walton was a part-owner of the Hall Brothers Hunting Club and a dedicated member of the Mt. Pleasant Hunting Club, H&D and RMC Hunting Clubs. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He was well known for his humor—always ready with a joke for any occasion—and for his generous spirit. Walton would help anyone in any way he could, and he touched countless lives with his kindness.

Walton is survived by his brother, Howard Hall; his children, Ellen Edwards Potter, Greg Alan Hall (Jessica); and several grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Jason Hendrix, Colton Hendrix, Garrett Hendrix, Summer Potter, Skye Potter (Tara), Lauren Breaux (Christian), and Alyssa Hall. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Harper Potter, Emma Hendrix, Cooper Hendrix, Miller Hendrix, Leighton Hendrix, and Zoey Potter, along with too many friends and extended family members to count.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Hall, his daughter, Leigh Hall Hendrix; his siblings, Chaudoin, Vera Mae, William & Miriam. Walton loved deeply—his family, and lots of friends. His big heart, quick wit, hard work ethic and appreciation for the simple joys of life made him unforgettable. He will be sincerely missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.

Walt man is a legend…. And as he would say, live & let live.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A graveside burial will follow at Rincon Cemetery. After the burial, a reception will be held at Oak Grove Church of Christ, located at 2000 Lexington Avenue, Rincon, GA 31326.
