Mary Smith

Mary Smith, 94, a lifelong Savannah resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was born on June 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Gibson Hull Morgan and Susie Kessler Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Edward Smith, and a daughter, Linda Hicks.
Mary was an active member of Rothwell Baptist Church in Pooler. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her remarkable independence, maintaining her home and living a full, active life. She loved cooking and was a talented seamstress, renowned for the care and love she put into everything she made.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Willie Smith Jr. and Pam Smith; her grandchildren, Ashley Smith (Catherine), Brian Smith (Jennifer), and Melissa Hallman (John), Nick (Katherine) and Blair; her great-grandchildren, Ash, Mary, Ellie, Anna Bridges, Mills, Haynes, Caroline, Casey.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26th, at Fox & Weeks Hodgson Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East.
We have lost a precious soul. I loved her and enjoyed the time with her and our conversations about the LORD. I hope to meet you on the other side!
