Celebrating the life of

Victoria Worden

August 14, 1945 - November 16, 2025

Victoria Worden

Victoria Jean (DiBuono) Worden, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and nurse passed away on Tybee Island, Georgia. She was born on August 14, 1945, in Monessen, Pennsylvania, and lived a life defined by compassion, service, humor, and boundless generosity.

Vicki earned her nursing diploma from the Washington School of Nursing and later received her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southern University. She devoted her career to the care and well-being of others, serving in a variety of settings including the University of Maryland Medical Systems Stroke Unit, Curtis V. Cooper Healthcare as a Nurse Practitioner, and a year with the Indian Health Services at Fort Yuma. She also proudly served her country as an Army nurse from 1967–1968.

Vicki’s personal mission of service extended far beyond her professional life. She volunteered with the Fresh Air Home on Tybee Island, participated in medical mission work in Guatemala with Faith in Practice, and supported countless community causes. She was a tireless advocate for the establishment of a public pool on Tybee, one of many ways she worked to enrich her community.

A devoted member of All Saints Episcopal Church on Tybee Island for 34 years, Victoria served as Treasurer, sang in the choir, played the flute, read during services, and faithfully worked as sacristan. Her presence there was steady, joyful, and deeply valued.

Vicki’s interests were as vibrant as her personality. She loved playing the flute, knitting, water aerobics, kayaking, sewing, cheering on the Steelers and Pirates, and meeting friends for lunch. She adored the back river on Tybee, enjoyed putzing around the house, and never hesitated to share her opinions—usually with a smile. Known for always wearing lipstick in public, for blowing bubbles just because it made people happy, and for hating plastic bags, she had a playful and passionate spirit. She was famous for making and delivering food to friends, and her home was always open—even to strangers who needed a place to stay. Her generosity knew no bounds.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Art Worden; her son, Mark Jones of Lake Forest, California, his wife Becky, and their children Owen and Alex; her daughter, Stacey Naecker of Sykesville, Maryland, her husband Justin and their children Jesse, Elly, and Jack; and her sister, Judy Paglia of Charleroi, Pennsylvania. She leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and a community that loved her deeply.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be scheduled in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Vicki’s memory to Fresh Air Home, 900 Butler Ave., Tybee Island, Georgia.

I am so sad to hear about Vicki's death and that I was unaware she was doing poorly so I could have spent some time with her. Kayaking will never be the same without her as my buddy. And her special kayaking trail mix. She was such a good advocate for water exercise on Tybee. We owe so much to her for establishing our wonderful class.

But a huge loss & pain in our life and hearts I know. I will keep her and all of the family in my daily prayers. Please know that my heart is broken for your broken hearts.
