Celebrating the life of

Stephen Mark Dillon

Passed away on October 22, 2025

Stephen Mark Dillon

Stephen Mark Dillon passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Born in Savannah, Steve Dillon was the son of Francis Nicholas Dillon, Sr. and Christine Hazel Moore Dillon. After the loss of his parents at a young age, he went to live with his grandmother, the late Catherine Atkins Moore.

Despite being visually impaired from birth, Steve never let that hold him back. He was kind, generous, adventurous, fiercely independent, and always grateful. He graduated from Benedictine Military School in the Class of 1977- Come fall in line…… Later, he earned an associates degree from Savannah Technical College. A passionate sports fan, Steve supported all Georgia teams —from the Dawgs to the Braves —and his loyalty never wavered.

Steve was also passionate about gardening, serving as the community leader and head gardener in his apartment complex, The Woods. He viewed his neighbors as part of his family.

An avid music lover, Steve attended numerous Elton John concerts, and enjoyed performances by The Beatles, The Rippingtons, Acoustic Alchemy, Earl Klugh, and Bob James, sharing these experiences with his family and friends. He was known for his gratitude and appreciation for life.

He is survived by three brothers, Michael Francis Dillon, Sr. (Cornelia), Francis Nicholas Dillon, Jr., and James Norbert Dillon (Raegan); two sisters, Theresa Dillon Stephens and Donna Dillon Forbes (Michael); his uncles, Albert P. “Whitey” Moore, and Charles H. Moore, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Steve’s Memory to Benedictine Military School, 6502 Seawright Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
