Celebrating the life of
Pertory "Ann" Cowart
October 20, 1956 - October 23, 2025
Ann went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, on October 20, 1956, Ann was the daughter of the late James and Agnes Morris. She was educated in the Effingham County school system and later attended South College.
Ann married Jerry Smith, and together they founded Smith Septic Service. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Catina Ann Jenkins (Billy), Jeri Elaine Patrick (Matthew), and Lori Dee Huggins (Rusty).
Her love for racing began during her years working at Oglethorpe Speedway Park, where she met the love of her life, Robbie Cowart. On May 1, 2017, they were married in a small mountain chapel that she adored. For 30 years, Ann and Robbie shared a deep friendship and partnership, filled with laughter, adventure, and countless cherished memories.
She served as the office manager at Oelschig’s Nursery, where her hard work, dedication, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Ann loved weekends at the racetrack, cheering Robbie on, and being surrounded by her family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and unmistakable southern charm could brighten any room.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jimmy, and her beloved fur babies—Nicky, Racey, and Sassy.
Ann leaves behind her devoted husband, Robbie Cowart; her little brother, Joe Morris; her daughters; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her cherished fur baby, Sissy.
She will forever be remembered for her kind words, bright smile, unwavering devotion to her family, southern drawl, good cookin’, and her deep love for animals.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Fox & Weeks Hodgson Chapel. The Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Fox & Weeks Hodgson Chapel. The Burial will immediately follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
