Margaret "Peggy" Thompson
Passed away on September 28, 2025
            Margaret Kiene “Peggy” Thompson, 83, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Spanish Oaks Retreat in Savannah. Born, August 24, 1942, in Savannah, GA, she was the daughter of Thomas A. and Margaret Lingenfelser Kiene. Peggy graduated from Savannah High School and Armstrong State College where she received a B.A. in Nursing. She worked for Eastern Airlines, before beginning her career as an R.N. Her nursing career led her to work for the State of Georgia. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Thompson, Sr.
Surviving are her three sons, Tommy Thompson (Peyton) of Savannah, Mark Thompson of Savannah, and Bradley Thompson (Sarah) of Savannah. Also surviving her are her four grandsons, whom she was lovingly known as “Peppy”, Thomas Thompson, Rogan Thompson, Grady Thompson, and Miller Thompson, as well as her two sisters, Kathleen “Kitty” Ramage, Terrye Harbison (Malcolm), and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
The Graveside Service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
