Nancy R. Sheppard
Passed away on September 25, 2025

Nancy Marie Robertson Sheppard passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at her Tybee home with Maurice Sheppard, her husband of 64 years, holding her hand. Nancy was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 19, 1943, to Joseph and Nancy Meyer Robertson. She was raised in Savannah and attended Nativity Catholic School, Saint Vincent’s Academy and Armstrong College where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She loved nursing and had a wonderful career helping others. She was the start up nurse for Red Cross’s apheresis program which was a lifesaving program she found very rewarding. She then became a hospice nurse for many years and provided comfort to many patients and their families. Nancy believed hospice care was her calling, and she was dedicated to helping her patients. Nancy retired as a hospice nurse. She was a volunteer for several organizations including the Cub Scouts and the Red Cross, a member of the Daughters of Ireland and The Georgia Nurse’s Association.
Nancy is survived by her husband Maurice Alan Sheppard, Sr. of Tybee Island and two children, Maurice Alan Sheppard, Jr (wife Beverly) and Gregory Thomas Sheppard. She has two much loved grandchildren, Casey Robert Sheppard and Phillip Alan Sheppard. Nancy has two surviving brothers, Joseph Beckham Robertson and Terrence Patrick Robertson. There are many other surviving relatives. Nancy’s Parents and her brother William Meyer Robertson preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks, Islands Chapel, 4605 U.S. Hwy 80 East, Savannah, GA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at James Catholic Church on Saturday October 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Greenwich Cemetery. A reception will be held at Saint James Catholic Church following the burial.
