Allen David Whiteford

Allen David Whiteford, 55, died peacefully on Tuesday Sept 16th, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous and faithful walk with the Lord through ALS.

He was born in Sumter, SC to Master Sergeant Douglas Whiteford and Linda (Baker) Whiteford. He lived in several places before his parents came back home from military service to Savannah in 1982. He graduated from Memorial Day School in 1988.

In 1998, working for The Home Depot in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Allen met the love of his life, the former Jennifer Leigh West of Cary, NC. They have two wonderful daughters. Allen was an effective and beloved retail manager, working at Home Depot for 15 years, then at Bed Bath and Beyond for 15 years, and finally at Chick-fil-A Victory for 3 years. He was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah. He leaves a legacy of faith in Jesus, and in all of his relationships with coworkers and friends (most times one-in-the-same), his joy was to point people to the Cross.
