Celebrating the life of
Pat Carlino
Passed away on August 16, 2025

Pasquale Carlino, known affectionately as “Pat” to his family and many friends passed away following a brief illness August 16, 2025. He was 93.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Phyllis, his sons William and Bruce and their spouses Leeann and Ginny, his grandchildren, Katherine (Zach), Alexandra (Andy), Peter (Austin) and Danielle (Ahsan) and his great grandchildren, Emilia and Easton. Also, by his stepson Kenneth (Beth) and step grandchildren Natalie, Abagail, Teddy, Leland, Faye and Aaron.
Pat was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served for several years as a member of the New York Police Department. Following his tenure with the NYPD he became an insurance adjuster. He attended Brooklyn College and later earned psychology and counseling degrees from the New School of Social Research and New York Institute of Technology.
Afterwards he turned his career focus to working as an addiction specialist in New York at South Oaks Hospital and eventually for a number of city-run agencies when he relocated to Savannah. While there he helped many patients overcome their drug and alcohol dependency and turn their lives around.
Pat was a well-known resident in Savannah’s Landings community and was often referred to as the unofficial “Mayor.” He was happiest when surrounded by family, friends and his passions included golf, bocce, physical fitness and all things Italian.
A celebration of his life will be held later in September.

Please accept my sincere condolences. Pat was a lovely man and sought to enrich the lives of others. We will all miss having him amidst us.

My dear friend Mr Pat, you were my mentor and taught me everything I know about addiction, you helped me become the queen of tough love! Thank you. Your 93rd birthday is how I will remember you, surrounded by your loving family. Special love to Philly at this sad time.

Yes, Pat will be missed, but he left us with fulfilling memories of fun things we did together, and good times spent together. Pat's life was exemplified by an Australian saying we got to know, "Life, be in it. You gotta be in it!" He definitely was "in it," and he cared about the people who were "in it" with him. Thanks, Pat.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Pat, my Godfather. I have lots of fond memories of Uncle Pat from my childhood. I was afraid of his beard, and he knew it. He used to call me 'Master Gregor'. I am so glad to have those memories of him. I am posting a family photo of us all from about 1977. This is how I remember him. Love ya Uncle Pat. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
