Celebrating the life of
Angela (Angie) Willard Colquitt
June 14, 1960 - August 03, 2025

Angela “Angie” Willard Colquitt, 65, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, August 3rd, 2025.
Angie was born in Tachikawa, Japan while her father was stationed there in the 60’s. She was the third child of Charles and Montine Willard. She went on to grow up and live in Savannah, Georgia after returning stateside as a young child. She graduated from Windsor Forest High School in 1978. In 1994, she married her husband Thomas “Rusty” Colquitt, and they have been together ever since. She retired from the Savannah Yacht Club and worked alongside her husband with their barbecue business for a few years.
The moment you met Angie, you immediately could see her love for the color pink and anything animal print. She was a wild soul who worked very hard in the hospitality business for 40+ years. She thoroughly enjoyed reading and it was recorded that she read somewhere around 30,000 books just on her phone. Angie took her role as Gigi seriously and loved her grandchildren to pieces. She was also known as the “Cat Lady”. Found a stray? Your cat had kittens? Angie happily took them in and cared for them like they were her children. Angie and Rusty always had a door open and a hot plate for anyone who came through. Even on nights when it was just the two of them, they would still cook enough food for an army. It’s safe to say she’s in Heaven sitting on the beach with a book in her hand watching Evan play in the sand.
She is preceded in death by her son Evan Colquitt, her brother Charles G. Willard, her nephew Brian Willard, and her parents Charles and Montine Willard. In addition to her husband Rusty, Angie leaves behind her son James Kendrick Jr. (Holly); daughters Loren Kendrick and Casey Colquitt; her five grandchildren Chloe, Liam, Asher, Stefen and Stetson; her sister Brenda McLean (Jim); her brother Glen Willard (Liane); and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, from 5-7pm at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
My prayers are with Rusty and his family. Angie was a very sweet lady. I know how much Rusty loved her and know that she will be sorely missed.

We were so saddened to read the news of Angie's passing. As members of the Savannah Yacht Club, and my husband as a past commodore of the club, we worked closely with Angie on many events and parties over the years. She was always the consummate professional who always ensured a flawless event. She was an absolute joy to work with. She was more than an employee of the club; she became a friend to many. We were sad when she retired from the club and now even sadder to read of her passing. What a beautiful lady inside and out. Heaven has gained another angel. Condolences to all of the family.
