Passed away on June 13, 2025

Maxcine Hanks ,85, passed away in Savannah, Ga June 13, 2025. Maxcine was raised in a loving family alongside her three brothers and four sisters in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She became a Texas girl in her adulthood living in Dallas, Emory, Port Aransas, and Mineola. She moved to Savannah, Ga three years ago to be near her son.
Maxcine is preceded in death by her mother, Arby Gertrude (Gertie) Sanders; father, Otis Eugene Sanders; her devoted husband, David Ray Hanks; three brothers and one sister. Maxcine is survived by her son Michael D Tarvin; daughter-in-law Robin Y Tarvin; three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren; one brother Jimmy Lee Sanders and two sisters Norma Jean Johnson, Flora Mae Hill (Sug).
Maxcine loved traveling with her husband in their RV, gardening, fishing for crappie, arts, and crafts, playing the piano, and “The Dallas Cowboys.”
Maxcine was a stroke survivor of 15 years. Even though she was disabled she remained resilient, strong, and had a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and sing. Her courage inspired us to be better. We love you Mom, sister, and Memaw. You were our “Sunshine.”
Maxcine will be interred at a later date along with the remains of her husband David, beside her mother and father, at Rushfork Cemetery, Hot Springs Arkansas.
