Celebrating the life of
Judith W. Feus
January 11, 1934 - July 10, 2025

Judith Walker Feus, 91, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Candler Hospital. She was born January 11, 1934, in Savannah, GA to the late Joseph and Helen Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Fred (Bubber) Feus, her sister, Patsy Walker, and brother, Danny Walker, and Garry Walker.
Mrs. Feus is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joey and Donna Feus, Bobby and Kim Feus, and her daughter-in-law, Hollie Feus. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren (and 1 on the way), and several nieces and nephews.
She retired from Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education after many years of service.
Judy was the eldest child of Joe & Helen Walker. She grew up in "The Village" of Union Bag Paper Co. and went to elementary school at the Hermitage School there starting 1st grade when she was 5 1/2. She had fond memories of her time in "The Village." When she entered high school, she was placed in an accelerated group and completed the 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th grades in 3 years. In 1951, she received a 4-year scholarship to Armstrong Junior College in Savannah. That same year she met Bubber Feus. They became engaged in 1952 and married in 1953. They had 3 sons and a loving and fulfilling marriage for 69 years until his death in 2022.
She placed a high emphasis on family. She looked upon her daughters-in-laws as truly her daughters and loved and respected them as such. She developed a close relationship with her sister-in-law Joan Johnson. Their love of cooking led to a small special events catering endeavor for several years. The food they prepared and served was remarkable whether for a wedding or a family Sunday dinner. She loved her brothers and maintained close relationships with them and their families despite living in different areas of the country. Evenings would often find her on extended phone conversations with one of them to reminisce and catch up on life events. She championed yearly family reunions at the beach and elsewhere for the extended families of her and her brothers.
She loved her grandchildren immensely. She was often called upon to baby sit or pick them up after school. She loved "showing them off" when she had them. They each have their own memories of "Grammy" and "Papa." Whether it was peeling and eating shrimp and crabs or swimming off the dock at "The Country," as their creek house was called, or special moments shared by Grandmother and grandchild, their memories are everlasting.
She and her husband were faithful and active members of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Savannah. She held several leadership positions in the church and was responsible with others for the "Sparks of Life," a Bible study class in the church for older adults. She had a large circle of friends within her church family. During their retirement years, they would meet and socialize regularly.
She worked several years for the Savannah Area Vocational School and later retired after working for the Chatham County Board of Education as the secretary at Largo-Tibet Elementary School in Savannah.

In Loving Memory of My Grandmother My grandmother had immeasurable impact on my life. Her strength wisdom and love shaped generations of our family. Always prioritizing her family and faith she led with immense resilience devotion and grace. Cherished memories I have include laughter warmth and unconditional love shared with her. Every moment spent with her is etched in my heart. Her legacy of love and strength will be deeply missed. More importantly though the lessons she taught and memories we created will forever stay with me. I am grateful honored and forever changed by her presence in my life. With all my love Robert Feus Jr
