Neil Pace

Neil Pace, 75, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Savannah Hospice after a brief illness.

Neil graduated from Armstrong State College and spent his career as a purchasing manager for companies that included Hunt-Wesson, Great Dane, and Colonial Fuel. He retired from Colonial in Savannah in June 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Almon Berry Pace, Sr and Corine Freyermuth Pace as well as his brother Jacob Lewis “Shug” Pace.

Neil is survived by his wife Holly Blake Pace, his sons Christopher Blake Pace and Philip Bradley Pace, brother Almon Berry Pace, Jr (Tinka), sister-in-law Carolyn Pace, sister-in-law Beth Blake Wasdin (Curtis), and several nieces and nephews.

Neil was an avid golfer, and was a regular participant in the Senior Blitz at Bacon Park golf course after his retirement, alongside his best friend Wayne Bruce. He was a lover of all sports, and his favorite teams were the Georgia Bulldogs, and especially the Atlanta Braves. You could ask Neil the score of any Braves game the following morning and he would not only tell you the score, but how each player played and how the pitcher performed. Neil was a devoted family man and was respected by his co-workers and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th from 5:00 pm-7:00pm at the Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel.

I had the pleasure of knowing Neil during his tenure at Great Dane, and for some time after he left there. I have fond memories of Neil, including his visit to Chicago and his excellent play at the Beverly Golf Course on the south side. Neil was always a great asset to his employer, a great sense of urgency, attention to detail, topflight integrity and a wonderful friend to have. I am sorry for everyone's loss.
