Celebrating the life of

Diane Rollins Sayler

October 24, 1954 - June 29, 2025

Diane Rollins Sayler

Born October 24, 1954, Diane was raised in Savannah, Georgia by her mother, Cornelia Rollins. She attended Grady Nursing School and graduated in 1973. Diane married Robin Sayler in 1976 and they had three children. She worked the majority of her life as a pediatric nurse, caring for children in Highlands, NC; St Petersburg, FL; and Savannah, GA. She was an active member of churches in each city where she lived, and loved to volunteer in her community. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and baking. She was a dog person until her young children brought home a stray cat and talked her into keeping it, without realizing they had adopted an expectant mother. She was firmly a cat person from then on.

Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Cornelia Rollins; her sister, Pam Rollins; and her ex-husband, Robin Sayler. She leaves behind the three children she raised, Aaron (Becky), Mary Phillips (Sam), and Elizabeth Klempner (Jason). She had 7 grandchildren who she loved dearly: Gabi, Lily, Sunny, Charlie, David, Rose, and E'Eazzen. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in her name to the Children's Miracle Network, to continue her legacy of caring for children in need of medical care.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 5 at 11:00 a.m. Hilton Head Presbyterian Church, 233 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC, followed by a private graveside service in Greenwich Cemetery, Savannah, GA.

I had the privilege of working with Diane at Memorial for a few years while our paths crossed. She was a light- always joyful, positive, and calm. I always looked forward to a lunch chat with her, where she was always sure to share about her wonderful adult children and grandchildren. She was a precious lady, and I'm so grateful our paths crossed for a few years. I will be thinking of you all, her family, as you grieve your previous mom, mother in law and grandmother. I know there is so much of Diane for you all to grieve.

A candle has been lit!

I was so sorry to see Diane's obituary. I went to nursing school with her and did not know her personally, but saw her daily, either in the lunch room or usually in the elevator. This picture is exactly how I remember her. She seemed sweet and quiet and I wish I could have known her, but she must have been an upperclassman to me, even though I thought she was in our class. Grady nurses were the best! Fly high, Diane!

Diane and I met in Nursing School at Grady. Our friendship formed right away. We were in Group D together. We were in Choir together and our group took a bus to Savannah one summer to sing. She and I did our clinical practice together too. I was honored to be a bridesmaid for her and Robin. I have so many good memories of and with Diane. Though we lived far apart after school she was always on my mind! And loved seeing her at our reunions. My love to you all !
