Celebrating the life of
Elaine Longwater

Elaine Longwater
February 3, 1943 – June 25, 2025
Elaine Longwater, born on February 3, 1943, left this world on June 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy as vibrant and unforgettable as she was unique, eccentric, bold, and visionary, Elaine lived life on her own terms. She was fiercely independent and a true self-starter, never waiting for permission to pursue what she believed in. She inspired those around her with her unshakable courage, quick wit, and her refusal to be anything but herself.
Elaine was the loving mother of three daughters: Chimene Longwater (Biff), Alesia Quante (Albert), and Paris Carnahan (Walter). She adored her grandchildren: Sara, Georgia, and Sam Bermingham; Skylar and Ben Quante; and Sophia, William, and Coco Carnahan. Her children and grandchildren each carry forward her spirit of resilience and authenticity in their own unique ways.
Elaine was the first born child of Eleanor G. Longwater and William (Mutzie) Longwater. She paved the way, by thoughtfully challenging and breaking convention, for younger siblings Barry Longwater, Edwin Longwater, and Miriam Longwater. Family was important to Elaine and niece, Bonita Davies (Chris), and nephew, Ryan Longwater (Jeannie), held very special places in her heart.
She shared a deep bond with her best friend and business partner, Anastasia Kontos, with whom she built dreams and navigated life’s many adventures.
Elaine’s energy filled every room she entered, and her ideas sparked change wherever she went. She leaves behind a world that is better for her having been in it and a family and community forever grateful for the lessons she taught simply by living as herself.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Elaine for her family and friends will be held at a later date. Elaine never met a stranger no matter where she was on the planet! Her celebration will be as unique, colorful, and wonderful as she was.
