Celebrating the life of
Kathleen Laverne Warenzak
July 07, 1936 - June 19, 2025
Kathleen Laverne Warenzak, 88, was peacefully delivered to our Lord on June 19, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born at Telfair Hospital in Savannah, GA, to Clara Mae Tuttle and Fonnie Eugene Miles on July 7, 1936. She grew up in Shawnee, GA, and her family later moved to Savannah, where she studied nursing.
For more than 30 years, Kathleen was employed by Telfair-Candler Hospital, where she worked in labor and delivery. In this role, she quite literally helped usher new life into the world—guiding thousands of infants into their first moments with compassion and grace.
She was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and lived a life centered on devotion, humility, and service. As a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle, she was actively involved in her church community, finding strength and purpose through prayer, fellowship, and acts of charity. Her faith was a guiding light in both her quiet moments and her greatest challenges.
She was married to Joseph Edward Warenzak for 54 years, with whom she had two sons: John Joseph Warenzak (Lacy) and Anthony Patrick Warenzak (Carol). Previously, she was married to Jared Franklin Westbury, Jr., with whom she had three children: Marcia Westbury Towns (Michael), James Russell Westbury, and Judith Ellen Westbury. She also had the following grandchildren: Christopher Michael Towns, Kelly Marie Towns (Pol), Kevin Anthony Towns, Joseph Franklin Westbury, Jessica Renee Westbury, Jason Howard Crane, Samuel Scott Crane, Jameson Leah Radford, Joseph Lucian Warenzak, Philip Ronan Warenzak, and Nikolas Roman Warenzak. She was blessed with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is survived by her sisters, Francis Tindor and Caroline Rose Mattingly, and was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Miles and Donald Miles. Her beloved niece, Donna Page, was the steady presence and gentle glue that held the three sisters together through every season of life.
Kathleen was blessed and deeply fulfilled, both in her professional and personal life. When not caring for others at the hospital, she enjoyed traveling, cherishing time with her family and pets (especially her beloved “Ginger”,) and living life with quiet strength and dignity.
Kathleen’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, both inside and outside of the delivery room.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am n Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. The Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at the Catholic Cemetery.
Deepest condolences
