Celebrating the life of
Daniel Webster Byrum
Passed away on June 13, 2025

I’ll fly away Oh Glory. After 92 years with us, Daniel Webster Byrum passed away peacefully on Friday June 13th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in Savannah, GA.
Born in Greenville, NC to parents Ernest Raymond Byrum, Sr. and Leona Doughty (Byrum) Tripp. Daniel remains greatly loved by his wife of 70 years Elizabeth Hudnell Byrum, his daughters Alisa Byrum Taylor and Christy (Alan) Byrum, and as Paw Paw to grandsons Zachary Wingett and George Taylor, Jr. Loved as well by Brenna Wingett, George Taylor Sr. and Amy Edwards.
Mr. Dan the Cadillac man, will be forever known for his quick wit, genuine kindness, and love of cars, especially Cadillacs. Dan was highly regarded through his many years as a Navy man, Preferred Risk insurance agent, and retired hotel/motel manager of the previous Howard Johnsons and St Joseph’s Inn, Savannah.
Loved by so many, in his family and friendships, it’s hard to express how much he meant to so many. But his sense of humor will forever ring true in what we believe were his last words, “what does that woman want now.” Even mama got a good laugh at that one.
Flowers can be sent on his behalf to Elizabeth Byrum, care of The Social Savannah, 1 Peachtree Drive, Savannah, GA 31419
In lieu of flowers, donations in his namesake to Hospice Savannah are appreciated.
His celebration of life will be announced at a later date and held in NC.
Sorry for your loss Dan was a really nice person

Going to miss that smile and best attitude! Wished I would have seen him more in these later years. Love you Uncle Dan! Rest easy with God!
