Daniel Kovaleski
November 4, 1941 – May 30, 2025
Savannah, Georgia – Age 83

Daniel Kovaleski, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great friend to many, passed away on May 30, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 83.

Dan grew up in Dickson City, Pennsylvania.  After graduating from the University of Scranton he pursued his lifetime dream of playing professional baseball and was signed by the San Francisco Giant’s organization. After baseball he continued his studies and received his Master’s degree in Finance from Farleigh Dickinson University.

Dan was a dedicated employee of Texaco, Inc. for 35 years, holding various positions culminating as Chief Financial Officer of International Operations.

Outside of work, he found joy in golfing (especially when he had the first tee time), collecting coins (when bought at wholesale price), and most of all, spending time with his family. Nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren who affectionately called him Dziadek (grandfather).

Those who knew Dan will remember his great sense of humor—quick with a laugh, a story, or a perfectly timed remark, he brought joy to every room he entered.

Dan travelled the world, but his best trips were with his wife of 63 years, MaryAnn. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his sister Loretta of Peckville, Pennsylvania; his three sons: Daniel Kovaleski of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Stephen Kovaleski (Ann Marie) of Brewster, New York, and Mark Kovaleski (Lynn) of Victor, New York. He leaves behind nine adored grandchildren: Ellen, Kate, Jack, Stephen, Victoria, Sophia, Amy, Allison, and Andrew.

A Catholic Mass celebrating Daniel’s life will be held on Thursday, June 5th, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Chapel, 16 Rosenbrook Ave, Savannah, GA 31406,  Isle of Hope.

A private burial will take place at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dickson City, Pennsylvania.

Dan’s legacy lives on in the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. James Catholic Church Capital Contribution Fund.

I am husband of deceased cousin Barbara A Obst (maiden name). Dan attended our wedding on June 1, 1968 and I remember Dan fondly as he was a very personable man. I would like to express my condolences to his wife and family.

- Frank M Negvesky, Manvel, Texas

Mary Ann and Dan have been our friends and golf partners for the last 20 years. We are now so sad that our golfing partnership is breaking but our friendship will last forever. We will continue to enjoy our walks to the State Park and around the Marshes campus. Monique and David

Dan was my late husband's best friend and Mary Ann was one of my best friends. It s very rare to find a couple to enjoy so many wonderful times together. We loved traveling together every year to Europe, Canada, and many states. He will be greatly missed by so many.
