Chris Kobleur

In Loving Memory of Chris Kobleur

Chris Kobleur, age 71, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025. He was born in Savannah and remained deeply connected to the city throughout his life.

Chris was predeceased by his beloved mother, Jean Arp Kobleur and his father, Joe Kobleur. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Cindi, his son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Kaylee Kobleur; his cherished granddaughters, Kensley and Karsen Kobleur; brother, Jim Kobleur; sister-in-law, Pat Crews; brother-in-law, Greg Crews; niece, Jeannie Christensen; nephews, Bo Kobleur, Adam Crews, and Jason Crews.

A proud alumnus of Benedictine Military School (Class of 1971), Chris continued his education at the University of Georgia and Armstrong University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management/IT. He was also a brother of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He built a long and successful career as an IT Manager, retiring in 2011 after 35 years with Union Camp/International Paper.

Chris was a man of sharp wit and infectious humor, known for his remarkable storytelling and his love for words. He had a passion for photography, was a prolific chess player, and never lost his fascination with technology, spending countless joyful hours immersed in computer games. An avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, you could always hear him cheering every football Saturday - “GO DAWGS!!!” More than anything, he delighted in spending time with his family, especially playing games and sharing laughter with his granddaughters.

For the past seven years, Chris found peace and happiness in his mountain home, surrounded by nature and those he loved. A lifelong lover of Irish and folk music, he proudly passed that passion on to his son.

Chris will be remembered for his intellect, his humor, and his deep love for his family. He was a kind and gentle soul and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, joy, and unforgettable stories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, with Visitation from 3pm - 4pm and Celebration of Life from 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Chris’s memory to Benedictine Military School at www.thebc400.com.

Chris was a wonderful mentor, and I will treasure the years we worked together at Union Camp/International Paper. Chris was my manager for the last few years, and he was the perfect person to lead the IT department. I have thought of Chris so often, and even though I have not seen him for several years, I will miss him as if it were yesterday.
