Celebrating the life of

Linda K. Sanchez

December 14, 1947 - May 11, 2025

Linda K. Sanchez

Linda K. Sanchez peacefully made her way to heaven on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Her loving daughter and son-in-law were by her side.

Linda was born to parents, Leo and Irma Sanchez on December 14, 1947 in Savannah, GA. She attended Cathedral Day School, St. Vincent's Academy (class of 1965), and Armstrong College. In 1968, Linda became a flight attendant for Delta Airlines where she had a 32-year career before retiring from flying in 2000. She then entered her second career using her previously attained real estate license. Linda spent 25 years serving the Savannah community as a real estate agent. During her 57 years of dedication and hard work, it was clear Linda enjoyed taking care of people. Linda took great pleasure meeting with flight attendants through the retiree groups “Clipped Wings” and "Silverliners". She also enjoyed her time reconnecting with the SVA class of ‘65 at luncheons and gatherings. However, her favorite title was Grandmama. Linda cherished every moment spent with her grandbabies and absolutely adored them. They shared a very special bond.

Linda was an active member in the Catholic Church. She participated in the Right to Life Committee, including a freezing, snowy visit to D.C. for the March for Life. She overcame her fear of public speaking, and became a lector at Sacred Heart and St. James the Less. This past year, Linda was an active member of the Rosary Group for Children at St. James Catholic School.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, Leo Duffy Sanchez and Irma Long Sanchez; she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leila and Eamon Sheehan; grandchildren, Knox Timothy and Ava Elizabeth; sister, Ann Beasley; nephew, Terry Beasley (Cathy), Tony Beasley (Denise), all of Savannah; and her grandniece Hannah Caskey (Mike) of Nashville, TN.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel with a Rosary service beginning at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a reception. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.

Traditionally, many may feel the need to wear black, but please, wear color if you wish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent's Academy, 207 Liberty Street, Savannah, GA 31401 or the Savannah Care Center, 105 E. 34th Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

Linda was a dear friend that I grew to know and love during our time at Remax Savannah and even more so afterwards. I will miss our weekly texts to each other sharing our journey and mostly our love for Jesus! She was a very strong woman of faith and courage who fought the good fight of faith. She ran her race well and has made it to that glorious finish line and hear the words, well done thy good and faithful servant! You can rest now my friend. Georgette Jackson

Leila, I am so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. She was a wonderful person in every way. I first met her at Sacred Heart many, many years ago and had the pleasure of joining the same "small church" group where we all grew spiritually and developed life-long friendships. Her dedication to her faith was pure and abundant. Her true joy though was being your Mom and Grandmother to your precious children. With my deepest sympathy. Rest in Peace Linda.
