Priscilla Beasley Burdette

Priscilla Beasley Burdette, 89, of Ellabell, GA passed away at home, peacefully in her sleep on Friday April 25, 2025.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Larmar T. “Sam” Burdette; her parents, Frank and Viola Beasley; sisters, Norma Jean Cowart and Pamela Beasley; and three brothers, Trellis, Pridge, and Franklin Beasley.

She is survived by her daughter, Samantha B. Barner (Allen) of Ellabell, GA; son, Lamar T. Burdette II of Thunderbolt, GA; four grandchildren, Justin Pruitt of Anchorage, AK, Victoria Sorrels (Colten) of Guyton, GA, Dustin Hutchinson (Devin) of Baxley, GA,  and Alexis Newell (Casandra) of Hinesville, GA;  five great-grandchildren, Layla Pruitt, Talia and Tara Sorrels, Natalie Geisleman, and Way Hutchinson; three sisters, Audrey Moss (Jim) of Beaumont, TX, Noreen Leggett of Baxley, and Joyce Turner of Pt. Wentworth, GA; a brother, Wrence Beasley and Sister-in-Law Judy Beasley (Pridge-deceased) both of Claxton, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At a young age, Priscilla began working for Bellsouth where she became the first woman to work on the frame. She left her job with Bellsouth in order to stay home and care for her children. After her children began school, Priscilla returned to work at Savannah Country Day, where she made many friends and eventually retired after many years of service. Priscilla was a member and former President of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion, Post 184 in Thunderbolt. 

Priscilla's family would like to share a special thank you to Tonja McLeod and Missie Stratton for their amazing care keeping Priscilla comfortable in her last days.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest you consider a donation be made in Priscilla's memory to Spanish Oaks Hospice, 8510 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
