October 14, 1940 - March 31, 2025

William Edward Brown, 84, peacefully passed into eternal rest at his home in Bloomingdale, GA, on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Bill was born on October 14, 1940 in Albany, Georgia, son of Henry Jerry Brown and Bernadine Osborne Brown. He moved to Savannah, GA at an early age where he attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Schools, Benedictine Military School and graduated from Savannah High School. He attended Georgia Southern University where he majored in Industrial Engineering and met his forever partner, Derita Morgan Brown. Bill was a dedicated employee and Vice President of Savannah Iron & Fence from 1966 to 1991. Bill and his brother Ronnie then started their own Business in 1991, Brown’s Detailing. They worked diligently for the next 20 years designing buildings for the southeast region. Bill retired in 2010 to enjoy life with his wife, kids and grandchildren. He loved the salt life where he enjoyed fishing and shrimping and teaching the next generations how much joy could be found around the coastal waters of Tybee Island. Bill was a dedicated Husband, Father and Grandfather and spent the last 15 years of his life caring for his family. He is and will always be remembered for his kind heart and love for others. He was a rock, guide and mentor to all that knew him.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of over 58 years, Dee Morgan Brown; his daughter, Hope Brown; his son, Paul Brown; daughter-in-law, Christy Brown; grandchildren, Parker, Addison, and Blake Brown; siblings, Ronnie Brown (Connie) and Cathy Brown; sister-in-law, Sunni Brown of Savannah, GA; multiple nieces and nephews, and in-laws, Barry and Althea Durden of Rocky Ford, GA, and Ashley and Peggy Morgan of Claxton, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Osborne Brown; his father, Henry Jerry Brown; his sister, Geraldine Brown Eddins; and his brother, Barry Brown.
