Robert "Robbie" Maclaurin

Robert “Robbie” Maclaurin passed into eternal glory on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at The Social at Savannah. Robbie served in the US Army during WWII. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1938 where he was the quarterback on the football team his senior year. Robbie Maclaurin was also an excellent golfer and taught his wife, Ceil Maclaurin, to play golf as well. In 1949 Robbie won the Savannah City Amateur Championship at the old Municipal Golf Course (the Muny). Robbie loved being outside and the water. He built a wooden cabin boat from the blueprints that he saw in a Popular Mechanics Magazine.
Robbie retired from Hercules Powder Company where he was the office manager and Comptroller. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alger George Maclaurin and Maude Maclaurin, his wife, Ceil Harris Maclaurin,  His sister, Jean Rasmussen and her husband, Dr Earl Rasmussen and their daughter, Lauren Rasmussen Surviving are his son, Bob Maclaurin and his wife Kathy, and his grandaughters Lynn Thornburg and Bonny Maclaurin. Also a nephew, Rob Rassmussen
