Celebrating the life of

Nicholas Fileccia

Passed away on February 25, 2025

Nicholas Fileccia

Nicholas Fileccia

July 8, 1926 - February 25, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Nicholas Fileccia, a loving husband and devoted father who passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Nicholas was known for his strong work ethic, steadfast support of his family and devotion to Grace - his wife of 70 years - who passed in 2020. He had a long career as a NYC Transit Union worker - walking every mile of the city’s subway during his time as a track inspector. In his freetime, he was a skilled bowler recognized for bowling a 300 in Brooklyn Bowling Leagues.

Nicholas and Grace became snowbirds, spending summers in NYC and winters in Boynton Beach, FL. There they regularly took bus trips to nearby casinos and dinner shows. In 2018 he relocated to Georgia to take care of Grace and be closer to family.

He is survived by his children Tana Fileccia-Flagg and Stephen Fileccia, his son-in-law Ronald Flagg and his grandsons Marco and Guy. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank all the care-givers from Compassionate Care, Hospice Savannah and Legacy at Savannah Quarters for their kindness, professionalism and care provided to our father and family.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church on Thursday, March 6 at 11am. St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church is located at 11500 Middleground Rd, Savannah, GA 31419.

The Family requests donations to Savannah Hospice in lieu of flowers.  (P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416)
