Jane Wheeler Patnode

Jane Wheeler Patnode, a native Savannahian, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2025 after a short illness. She was born November 18, 1936, daughter of the late James and Inez Wheeler.

Jane graduated from Commercial High in 1954 and was her class valedictorian. She was an accomplished pianist, and avid reader, and a great cook. As an adult, Jane was active in her church, Trinity United Methodist Church on Tybee Island, and was the treasurer of the Tybee Optimist Club for 20 years.

Jane's family was first and foremost in her life. She was preceeded in death by the love of her life, Gene Patnode, and is survived by her sister Mary Ward, her son Gene Randall Patnode (Page) her daughter Susan Patnode Neal (Rich) her grandchildren Amy Liane Patnode (John), Cody Patnode, Mandy Kohel (Daniel), Patrick Brooks (Mere), 4 great grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.
