David Beasley Harn, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at Hospice Savannah, surrounded by family. A Savannah native, he graduated from Savannah High School in 1960 and furthered his education at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville and Georgia Southern College in Statesboro. In 1962, he began a distinguished 57-year career with New York Life Insurance, retiring at 76.
David was a dedicated member of the Georgia Underwriters Association. Outside of his professional life, he cherished the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. Golf was another passion, bringing him both challenge and camaraderie; he was an active member of the Forest City Gun Club for over 30 years and the Savannah Golf Club for over 50 years.
Known for his sociable nature, David loved meeting new people and engaging in lively conversations. His gift for connecting with others was a defining characteristic of his personality. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nuell Beasley and Reginald Boyd Harn.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra Mansfield Harn; his sister, Melinda Harn Smith; his daughter, Renee Harn Hickman (Wayne); his son, Reginald Brian Harn; and three grandsons: David Waters Hickman, Jacob Allen Hickman, and Jackson Brian Harn. His children from a previous marriage, Tamara Lea Harn and David Beasley Harn, Jr., also survive him.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Bonaventure Cemetery on Monday, February 10, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David’s memory to Isle of Hope Methodist Church Building Fund, 412 Parkersburg Road, Savannah, GA 31406, or Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13019, Savannah, GA 31416.

Sandy, we were so sorry to hear of David’s passing. He was a great guy. In the later years I’d not seen that much of him but I often talked with him in the early years of New York life. I know he’ll be missed by all that knew him.
- Bing and Carolyn , Statesboro , Ga

My first introduction to David was at LaVida Country Club in the early 70's. I was probably 12 years old. He was 29 or 30. He was always kind to me. He certainly showed me more respect than I probably deserved. David was a very good man, and always seemed to follow the golden rule. I was blessed to have known him. My thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.
