Bob Arnold, 91, a lifelong resident of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025. He was born on March 31, 1933, son of late James Mack Arnold and Alma Victoria Box Arnold. He was a loving and cherished husband to his wife, Grace for 73 wonderful years, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love.
Bob was the proud father of two sons, Rob and Mark, whom he spent countless hours at the baseball field, cheering them on and teaching them not only the game but also the value of teamwork, perseverance, and integrity.
His love for his family was boundless, and he took great joy in watching his sons grow and thrive. He was also loving a brother, brother-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
Bob’s life was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, faith, and hard work.
A committed member of Isle of Hope Methodist Church, Bob was a man of faith whose belief guided his every action. He found peace and purpose in his relationship with God and his church community, offering both service and support throughout his life.
In addition to his devotion to his family and faith, Bob served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1950 – 1951. He was also known for his tireless work ethic, working at American Cyanamid/Kemire from 1955 until retirement in 1990. Whether on the job or enjoying his hobbies, he approached every task with diligence and pride. He found joy in working with his hands, dabbling in woodworking and particularly loved being in the yard, where he spent many happy hours tending to his lawn and landscaping. For many years, he and his wife, Grace also enjoyed line dancing with friends.
Bob’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember him not only for his love and devotion but his kindness, generosity, and the examples that was set of living a life of purpose. He was a man who gave all of himself to those he loved and to the work he did.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace, his sons, Rob and Mark, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry his memory with them forever.
A service to honor Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Fox & Weeks Chapel at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. before the service. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park.
