Celebrating the life of
Alice Eldredge Cowart
March 02, 1953 - January 25, 2025
Alice Eldredge Cowart, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on January 23, 2025, after a brief illness at hospice care. She was 71. Alice was born on March 2, 1953, in Mineola, New York, to the late Herbert and Alice Eldredge.
A dedicated middle school teacher, Alice enjoyed a fulfilling career with the Chatham County Public School System, where she touched the lives of countless students. Her love for teaching was only matched by her passion for reading and spending time with her family. She cherished her role as a grandmother, and her three grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy: Ava Cowart, Grady Cowart, and Madelyn Cowart.
Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Skip; her two sons, Matthew Cowart (Marissa) and Lucas Cowart (Ashley); and her grandchildren, Ava, Grady, and Madelyn. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM at St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church.
