Celebrating the life of
Glenda Sears
July 11, 1943 - January 18, 2025

Glenda Sears, 81, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. She was born July 11, 1943, in Pahokee, Florida to the late Pope and Catherine Grenfell Sears. Glenda was raised in Canal Point, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a PhD. in Education. She was an administrator in several different schools districts in Florida, and for the Savannah-Chatham County School System. She was most proud of being a mother and grandmother, her family was everything to her.
She is survived by her four daughters, Shelley Sears of Tallahassee, Florida, Melissa Kaminski (Drew) of Melbourne, Florida, Blake Greene-Iler (Aubrey) of Albany, Georgia, and Devon Greene (Jonathon) of Patterson, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Gale Sears of Savannah, Georgia, her brother, Wayne Sears (Yadira) of Canal Point, Florida, and seven grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to celebrate and honor her life will be held at a later date.
Remembrances may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah.
