Jeannie Barefield was a wonderful person who touched many lives. A client of ours since 2010, she was always so sweet and caring. Central Animal Hospital has made a donation to the Humane Society of Savannah in her memory.

Jeannine was one of a kind, her personality could light up room. I met Jeannine in 2012 while she was walking her dog corky along the side walk on Maupas Ave. I was just a renter at the time, than later became a home owner. Jeannine and I enjoyed each other company as we porch sat with our dogs, than later in life when I became mom to my son Gio. She always come over during holidays or birthdays, “I can’t stay long” but I always made sure she was invited to our specials occasions or just the random stops while porch sitting. I loved listening to her stories about life growing up in Savannah, the history of her home, of course the local gossip on the Maupas ave. I moved away from Savannah 2016, but I always made a point to stop by with my little boys and visit with her when we could. Each time, she couldn’t believe how big my boys had grown. We always took pictures of us on her beloved porch with her flowers. The last photo I have is from 2021. I always admired her, she was so independent, social, and out spoken. The things she would say, I would just laugh. Her soul was pure, she loved being known as the lady on the Maupas ave with the small dog who drove the PT cruiser. Jeannine, I will miss you, the memories with my boys with you and myself. I will always cherish forever.
