Celebrating the life of
Helen Jewett Weitz
June 19, 1947 - January 06, 2025
Helen Jewett Weitz, 77, passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 6th.
Helen was born and raised and lived most of her life in Savannah and was educated in Savannah public schools. Her career encompassed selling specialty advertising, insurance administration, marketing and public relations and probate court.
Growing up in one of the most beautiful cities in the world gave her a love of art which she pursued all her life. Being selected as runner-up in the Miss Savannah Pageant allowed her to perform in major roles in over three dozen plays in local theater. She was also involved in ballet performances throughout her life. She was a loving person to all she met and loving to all animals.
Helen was a long time member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church.
She was pre-deceased by parents Bradley Lane Jewett and Jane McDaniel Jewett and brother Bradley Lane Jewett, Jr. and husband, N. Harvey Weitz. Survivors are her son Tom (Allie) Drew of Atlanta, and sister Bonnie (Peter) Delvers of Savannah. She also leaves step-sons Trace Weitz of Aiken and Adam Weitz, St. Augustine. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14 at 12:00 noon followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider a donation to Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, 429 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA 31401 or to the Humane Society of your choice.
I’m so sorry to hear this about Helen. She was a sweet person and always kind to all. God Bless her and comfort and Bless her family with peace and comfort.

Helen and I were best friends for several years in elementary school. Then school districts parted us; however, I never forgot Helen and our friendship. Rest in Peace. With loving memories, Sally Kaplan Owens
