Celebrating the life of

Connie Moore

May 06, 1945 - December 06, 2024

Connie Moore

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Connie Louise Moore announces her passing on the evening of Friday, December 6th, 2024, at the age of 79. As a native San Diegan, Connie was born May 6th, 1945, to Dena (nee Leibram) and Warren Wright. Connie and her brother, Dennis, grew up in San Diego. Connie graduated from San Diego High School in 1963 and attended San Diego State University shortly thereafter. During a blind date, on April Fool’s Day back in 1966, she met and fell in love with her husband of more than 50 years, Lee Albert Moore. Connie and Lee raised two children, Christopher and Lea, in a loving and supportive home. As a stay-at-home mother, Connie dedicated her life to her children and in service of her community. While her children were growing, she held titles such as room mom, dance mom, and team mom, in addition to years as the PTO president and member of several Parent Advisory Boards. When she wasn’t rooting for her daughter at dance competitions or cheering on her son from the sidelines of sporting events, she served her community in the Lake Murray Juniors Club and the San Carlos Woman’s Club. Connie and Lee Moore were members of San Carlos United Methodist Church in San Diego, CA. In her role as Wedding Coordinator, Connie served both her community and church congregation for more than 20 years. In 2021, Connie and her husband relocated across the country from San Diego, California to Vidalia, Georgia to be closer to their children, grandchildren, and new great-grandchild. The longstanding tradition of family celebrations, summer barbecues, impromptu mid-week dinners, school performances, and sporting events all resumed—this time with her grandchildren. The memories made will be cherished greatly in her painful absence. She will forever be remembered for the incredible love she gave to her family, friends, and everyone she met along her journey. Connie passed peacefully, hand in hand with her family, who surrounded her bedside in Savannah, Georgia. Although our hearts are aching, we find solace in knowing that she is at peace with our Heavenly Father.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her devoted children, Christopher (Stacey) and Lea; her beloved grandchildren, Ashlyn Bone (Michael), Kaelyn, Christopher Duplantis, Abigeal, Kaeleb, Kaedence, Aoife, Colton, and Cayden; great-grandchild, Andrew James Bone; numerous other family members and lifelong friends who were dear to her heart. Connie is also survived by her niece, Debra, and nephews, David and Michael, with whom she shared a very special relationship.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Dena and Warren Wright, as well as several treasured lifelong friends.

We ask that those who know her and love her say a prayer in her remembrance. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to San Carlos United Methodist Church at 6554 Cowles Mountain Blvd, San Diego, CA 92119.

“You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray.”

I hope you know, Mom, how much I love you. You are my sunshine that won’t ever fade away.

GUEST BOOK

We lived in San Diego from 1976 to 1979. When we moved there, Connie took me under her wing and got me involved in a number of things. She was such a friendly and caring person that made my life and that of my family fuller and happier. I’ll never forget her and her lovely smile.
