Scott Andrew Kimball

Scott Andrew Kimball, Retired Islands Fire Department Deputy Chief (60) of Savannah, Georgia, and husband of the late SheyLa Kimball, passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, October 7, 2024.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Scott was the youngest son of Barbara A. Kimball and the late Terry M. Kimball. Scott was a graduate of Sol. C. Johnson High School, c/o 83, Scott was a member of The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and the Georgia Public Safety Fire Investigator’s Association. He dedicated his life to serving others, retiring as a Deputy Chief after 35 years in the fire service and serving 21 years in law enforcement as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. His warmth and compassion were most evident in his love for his family and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his wife, SheyLa M. Kimball; father, Terry McIntosh Kimball; maternal grandfather, Leo J. Howe; maternal grandmother, Rita C. Howe; paternal grandfather, Joseph W. Kimball; and paternal grandmother, Ruby H. Kimball.

Surviving are his mother, Barbara A. Kimball; brother, Terry M. Kimball (and his wife Connie); nephews, Ryan P. Kimball (and his wife Rebecca) and Taylor M. Kimball; niece Catherine A. Kimball; grandsons, Christopher M. Powell and Michael J. Powell; granddaughter, Amber N. Powell.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel.There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. The Burial will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
