Gayle Selcow
Passed away on October 02, 2024
Gayle Selcow, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born in Burlington Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Audrey Caragher. In 1961, she married Don Heyel with whom she raised five children. In 1991, she found love again and married Jay Selcow and becoming a stepmother to his three boys.
Gayle is survived by her husband Jay of 33 years, two sisters Joyce and Mary Jo and brother, Michael and five children: Kelly, Tracy (Bobby), Leslie (Larry), Chris (Julie), and Amy (Will). She is also remembered by her fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Gayle attended, Mount Saint Marys, where she excelled academically. She went on to pursue a career in nursing, graduating from Degoesbriand Hospital Nursing School to become a dedicated healthcare professional.
Throughout her life, Gayle worked as a stay-at-home mother and later returned to nursing at Saint Joseph's Hospital, where she touched the lives of many patients with her compassionate care.
Gayle was active in the catholic church and sang in the choir for many years. She loved to dance, sing, musical theater and attending symphony.
Gayle had a passion for tennis and gardening. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, cultivating beautiful plants and staying active on the tennis court.
Gayle passed away peacefully. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The Service will be Friday October 11, at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. The family will receive friends and family at 9:00 am and service to follow at 10:00am.
In Lieu oof Flowers, remembrances can be made to Hospice of Savannah.
