Celebrating the life of

Wanda Joyce Presley

October 03, 1940 - August 20, 2024

Wanda Joyce Presley

Wanda “Joyce” Presley, 83, a beloved mother and Mema, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, under the compassionate care of Hospice Savannah. Born on October 3, 1940, in Winter Haven, Florida, Joyce's early life was marked by her family's move to Savannah, where she later graduated from Commercial High School.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Gina McCall (John); her son, Jeff Presley (Maranda); her three granddaughters, Lexi Draucker (Chris), Adrian Presley, and Maggie Presley; her two great-grandchildren, Bear and Sadie Draucker; her sisters-in-law’s, Rosa Caine and Maroy Tilton (Billy), and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, Gene Presley; her father, Hugh Caine; her mother, Mildred Jaworski; her brother, Doug Caine; and her sister, Linda Cetti.

Joyce found her greatest joy in being a homemaker, mother, and Mema. Once her children were grown, Joyce pursued a new path, beginning a fulfilling career in banking. She retired from Wells Fargo after more than twenty years of dedicated service. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of the Islands and the Good Neighbors Class, Joyce loved the Lord and her church family. Joyce will always be remembered for her boundless love, strength, unwavering devotion to her family, and her seasonal decorations.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, August 23rd, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Island Chapel on Highway 80. Entombment will take place at Hillcrest Abbey East Mausoleum following the service. Brooks Cail will officiate.

Joyce was such a wonderful woman. I called her Mema because that's how I heard her precious grandchildren refer to her. Lexi, Adrian and Maggie - I am so sorry for your loss and am praying for the Lord to hold you tight as you mourn, and I hope that the fact that she loved Jesus is a comfort to you. She set a great example of the love of Christ, and it was so evident that she loved her family dearly. Jeff, Gina, Maranda, and John - I can certainly see her influences in how you live for Jesus. I am lifting you all before the throne of grace and can just picture Mema there worshipping her Lord with Gene by her side. Love you all!

- Marcia Herndon, Savannah, Georgia
