Celebrating the life of
Frederick Allan Jones
December 10, 1933 - August 04, 2024
Frederick Allan Jones, 90, of Tybee Island, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2024.
Mr. Jones was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and was the son of Robert Ward and Clyde Watts Jones. His family relocated to Savannah GA where he graduated from Savannah High School. Mr. Jones then attended the University of Georgia where he graduated in 1957 with a Bachelors in Business Administration. After graduation, he served in the Army where he was stationed in Germany for two years. He married Sara Haeseler of Sardis, GA on December 25, 1957. In 1960, he began his banking career in Waynesboro, GA with the First National Bank of Waynesboro. Soon after, he graduated from Georgia Banking School, the American Institute of Banking and The Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University. In 1975, he relocated to Swainsboro, GA where he became a Vice President with The Citizens Bank of Swainsboro. After retiring from a long career in banking, he became an agent with the Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Company where he earned many awards for sales and service.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church and the American Legion 154 on Tybee Island. He was a frequent volunteer with the Tybee Beautification Association and a member of the Tybee Island YMCA.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sara Jones. He is survived by his son, Allan Bradford Jones and wife Catherine of Marietta, GA; his daughter Tracey Jones Inglesby and her husband Henry of Savannah, GA; his grandchildren Caroline Jones Smith, Will Jones and Jacob Jones from Atlanta, GA and Sarah Elizabeth Inglesby and Phillip Ingelsby of Savannah, GA; and his brother Robert Jones and wife Ann of Blowing Rock, NC.
A memorial service will be at 1:00, Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Tybee Island, followed by a reception at the Jones Family Home, 503, 13th Street, Tybee Island.
He was such a great person - always smiling - always friendly - he will be missed - I am sure that Sarah is so happy to see him and that they are together again.
