Celebrating the life of

Carole Patricia Anthony

July 12, 1946 - May 23, 2024

Carole Patricia Anthony

Carole Patricia Anthony born in Washington DC passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 77 due to complications of heart disease.

Carole’s early years were spent in Washington DC and nearby Maryland. When her father retired in from the Navy in 1960 the family moved to Savannah where Carole attended St. Vincent’s Academy.

Following graduation, she promptly went to work at Dixon Sheehan Lane Insurance where she was treasurer of the firm. Her next many years were spent working as a coordinator at the Rose of Sharon.

Carole immersed herself in the community of Savannah. As a devote Catholic and member of Daughters of Ireland, Generation One, and other groups, she was a communicant at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years. She    later found fellowship at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.  Carole much enjoyed her many deep friendships and enjoyed social activities with her girlfriends.

Following her retirement Carole focused mostly on her father’s health, which was required. Steadfast in tending to Doug’s needs and providing him compassionate care, Carole was often found bringing him to the Senior Center, Savannah Bananas baseball games, or providing joy to all at The Social.

Preceded in death by her father Doug and loving mother Patsy Anthony, she is survived by brother Joe Anthony, cousins Linda Mason, Janet, Mark, & Jeffrey Anthony. Her wit, determination, and Southern humor followed her until her last days. Carole was a devoted and loving sister, daughter, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who love her.

A visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel. A graveside service will be at 10:00, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Catholic Cemetery

Joe, I'm so sorry for the loss of Carole, especially so suddenly following the death of father, Doug, at 101 years. You have been a devoted son and brother to them both. I've heard numerous stories of the myriad ways you spoiled Carole through the years. Carole, herself, was devoted to the care and well-being of her Dad. The angels are pleased with Carole's life of service.
