Celebrating the life of

Andrea M. Stark

February 23, 1945 - May 20, 2024

Andrea M. Stark

Andrea M. Stark passed away very peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on May 20th, 2024 from natural causes.

She was born to Andrew and Verna Collins on February 23rd, 1945. She had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and they spent summers at the Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan. She and her younger sister Kathy were never happier than walking along a beach together. Just a simple look could get them both giggling uncontrollably.

Andrea worked as an Artist for many years until a new opportunity brought her, her husband and young boys to Savannah in 1988. In order to be more closely involved with her children, she sought employment with the school system, ultimately retiring from her position in the Johnson High counselor's office after several years.

She continued her passion as a prolific Artist, becoming a very prominent member of the Savannah Art Association where she held several Board positions, including President. She was also a member of two other local galleries, and her art has been displayed in numerous establishments throughout the Savannah area.

Loved and admired by all who knew her, she was The One that everyone could always rely on. From students to strangers, fellow Artists and neighbors, as well as her large extended family, going above and beyond was always without a second thought for her. Never ceasing to amaze, she truly was the best of us. With love and eternal gratitude, she will never be forgotten.

Services will be Private.

GUEST BOOK

I can’t imagine the loss that you feel. I’m so sorry that she left you but always keep her memory in your heart and she will always be there with you.

- Dena Reichman, Burbank, Ca

My condolences to Andrea’s family. We worked together at Johnson High School for many years. She was my “right” arm in trying to keep the counselors office running “smoothly”. Andrea also had an artistic eye and she painted a few pictures for me. The one that I truly hold dear to my heart is the one shown below of the wild Lorikeets in Australia . Mrs. Stark took one of my pictures of the wild birds in Australia and painted a beautiful scene of the wild lorikeets in Australia .

- Wendy Bragg, Savannah, GA

My love goes out to the family. My heart is so sad to hear this news though I know she is a special art angel in heaven. She loved life and her family and friends and was a very kind giving lady!

- Leigh Harris, Savannah, GA

Andrea was a very selfless and special lady. We were together in Studio 5 in City Market and also in The Gallery in City Market. In the Savannah Art Association she was always the one to go to for information on the Art association, work shops, show venues, etc. She will be greatly missed.
