Lewis P. Bell, Jr.

Lewis Preston Bell, Jr., 82, passed away surrounded by his family on May 12, 2024. Lewis was born on December 21, 1941 in Savannah, GA. After graduating from Savannah High School, he joined the US Navy and married the love of his life, Jane Claire Tanner.

He was loving, hardworking and cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very talented in construction, wood working and could fix anything.

Lewis was a dedicated member of Savannah Baptist Temple for many years where he was a loyal servant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Preston Sr and Laurie Bell, and a son, Bradley Steven Bell.

He is survived in love and memory by his wife of almost 63 years, Jane, his daughter, Lisa Queen of Jacksonville, FL, his daughter, Glenda and son-in-law Ricky Miles of Savannah, GA, his daughter, DeeDee and son-in-law Wes Collins of Reidsville, GA, his brother Waymon Bell of Midway, GA, grandchildren, Erica and grandson-in-law Trey Atkinson, Amanda and grandson-in-law David Brodmann, Kristin Fullmore, Anna Bell, Mackenzie and grandson-in-law Seth Scriven, Zach Collins and Tanner Belle Collins as well as a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 11am and Savannah Baptist Temple 1151 Mohawk St., Savannah, GA 31419.

Lisa and Family - Leonard and I are so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. We are so glad that we were able to spend some time with him over the past 20+ years. He was a kind, funny and a caring man full of love!! He adored his family, and you could always tell your Mom was the absolute love of his life . . .treating her better than royalty. We are also grateful that we have a little piece of him with us always in our home from his and your mom's handy work adorning our windows!
